This gala opening concert is in memorium of the late Canon Geoffrey White who was instrumental in the founding of this festival.

Join the Big Band for an evening of fabulous music from the 40’s to present day. Foot-tapping nostalgia from Glenn Miller to Duke Ellington; put on your dancing shoes for an evening of Sinatra Swing, Buble Ballads and jazz standards.

The American Songbook Quartet return to Great Bowden Music Fest bring you show stopping performances of iconic tunes from Broadway’s golden age, Hollywood’s silver screen, alongside favourite Opera arias and duets. Be transported to this era of glamour and sophistication which will leave you singing and dancing all the way home!

This free lunchtime concert features young Leicestershire musicians Boris Dring (piano) and Ailsa Burns (violin). Works include Debussy, Chick Corea, Jessie Montgomery, Wynton Marsalis and Boris Dring’s own compositions.

SERENADES FOR SUMMER

Sunday 9th July 6:00pm

Our grand finale will include Vivaldi’s Viola/Cello concerto, Finzi’s Eclogue for piano and strings and Tchaikovsky’s wonderful Serenade for Strings.
