About the Event

The night will be young, the skies will be clear, join the American Songbook Quartet for an evening of songs and music from the golden era of Hollywood Movies and Musicals! Come in your finery for music by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hammerstein and George Gershwin as this London based quartet share these timeless classics accompanied by Jonathan Jarvis (GSMD American Songbook Company Musical Director)

Performers:

Caroline Bourg

Originally from Chicago, Caroline is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is passionate about various styles of repertoire, with music theater and contemporary song being among her favorites!

Avalon Summerfield

I am a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I specialised in Baroque music, but have always had a secret love... one of jazz and musical theatre - especially the music of the movies!

Alex Jones

I studied for a masters at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and now work as both a teacher and performer doing everything from musical theatre and opera to renaissance polyphony. When not performing you can find me either watching sports or trying to find new beers to try.

Florian Panzieri

Florian is currently on the Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He read History and Politics at the University of Warwick, and whilst there, directed, starred in and translated a plethora of Operas and musicals!

Jonathan Jarvis

Jonathan studied Piano Accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he currently co-directs The American Songbook module. When not teaching or accompanying, his other passions include singing, cycling and espresso martinis (sometimes in that order!).
